"TEE-NS".09 Memory of Palm Springs Graphic Tee

今シーズンのテーマでもあるコーチェラバレーを臨むパームスプリングス。
多くの映画でも題材にされてきた、砂漠の中の避暑地である。

 

ロサンゼルスからパームスプリングスへ向かうと、フリーウェイから見ることができる、砂漠に突如現れる数千を超える風力発電機。
この景色こそが、パームスプリングス・コーチェラバレーが目と鼻の先であることを知らせる一つのサインだ。

 

実際にパームスプリングス山頂へ向かうエアリアルトラム（山頂までのゴンドラ）や、目に映る景観など、デザイナー自身の目に映り、大きな感動を残した場所をグラフィックとフォトプリントで表現した。

 

ボディは32/1の細番手の糸で編まれた天竺を使用し、経年劣化したような色褪せたヴィンテージの風合いをフロスト加工で表現した。
袖と裾は天地縫い（シングルステッチ）で仕上げつつも、袖には表振り3本針ステッチワークを施し、古着でありそうでない、ユニークなヴィンテージTシャツを表現。

 

カリフォルニアの美しさを感じることができる、デザイナー自身が好きな場所の一つをグラフィックで表現した。
広大な砂漠に現れるオブジェクトにフォーカスした1枚です。

Palm Springs overlooks the Coachella Valley, the theme of this season.
Palm Springs is a desert getaway that has been the subject of many movies.

 

When driving from Los Angeles to Palm Springs, one can see from the freeway thousands of wind turbines that suddenly appear in the desert.
This view is one sign that Palm Springs-Coachella Valley is just a stone's throw away.

 

Graphics and photo prints depict places that left a great impression on the designer's own eyes, such as the aerial streetcar (gondola to the top of the mountain) that actually takes you to the top of Palm Springs Mountain and the landscape you see.

 

The body is made of jersey woven with 32/1 fine count yarn and frosted to give the garment a faded vintage look, as if it had deteriorated over time.
While the sleeves and hem are finished with topstitching (single stitching), the sleeves are finished with front-swing 3-needle stitchwork, expressing a unique vintage T-shirt that is both vintage and unlikely.

 

The designer's own graphic representation of one of his favorite places in California, where one can feel the beauty of the state.
This piece focuses on objects that appear in the vast desert.
