"SOHO" Homage Hand Knitting Alan Sweater

オレンジを片手にNYのストリートを歩く、在りし日のRiver Phoenix。

 

 

秋冬の定番として展開するアランセーター “SOHO” は、デザイナーの記憶に残るNYで撮影された一枚の写真と、かつて生活しパートタイムで働いたSOHOのストリートを重ねて名付けられた。

 

 

日本製のファインウール糸を職人が手編みと家庭機の編地を組み合わせて作り上げたオマージュのニット。

 

 

毎シーズン、編地の組み合わせを変えてアップデートしているこのプロダクトは、今季はフロントの編地を変更。棒針編みで成形されたアラン模様と鹿の子編みを組み合わせ、ひじの部分にアクセントのデザインを効かせた。

 

 

River Phoenixが着用していたニットを、KYOUの解釈で現代にアップデートした一着。

The Aran sweater “SOHO,” a staple for fall and winter, is named by overlaying a photograph taken in New York—a city etched in the designer's memory—with the streets of SOHO where he once lived and worked part-time.

 

 

This homage knit is crafted by artisans combining hand-knitting with machine-knit panels using fine Japanese wool yarn.

 

 

Updated each season with different knit combinations, this season features a revised front panel. It pairs a shaped Aran pattern created with straight needles and a ribbed knit, adding an accent design at the elbows.

 

 

A piece that updates the knitwear worn by River Phoenix for the modern era through KYOU's interpretation.
